Sodium bicarbonate is hypothesized to increase the risk for calcium phosphate kidney stones. New study findings presented at #NKFClinicals suggest that although sodium bicarbonate does increase urinary pH, it significantly raises urinary citrate levels, which may mitigate the risk for calcium phosphate stones
