Is your physiotherapist working on your breathing? How will this help with your pelvic pain? Studies have linked movement in the respiratory diaphragm to movement in the pelvic floor muscles. (Talasz, 2011).

Is your physiotherapist working on your breathing? How will this help with your pelvic pain? Studies have linked movement in the respiratory diaphragm to movement in the pelvic floor muscles. (Talasz, 2011). Pelvic pain, specifically SI Joint pain, was also linked to altered motor control in the core with lower extremity movement and a more shallow breathing pattern (Sullivan 2011). Deepening and slowing down your breath also has positive effects on your nervous system (we all need a little bit of that these days!). Make sure your physio includes calming breathwork as part of your care plan.
